ATEN to Focus on Remote Data Center Management and Professional Audio/Video Solutions at Computex 2010

The latest Data Center Solutions, Media Matrix Solutions, new SOHO KVM Switches, and more, to be showcased in Hall 1, Booth No. A533, A534, A539, A540

Taipei, Taiwan, May 26, 2010 - ATEN International, leading designer and manufacturer of advanced communication solutions, will participate in Computex 2010 – the largest IT trade show in Asia and second largest in the world – taking place in Taipei, Taiwan from June 1st to 5th. ATEN will unveil various new technologies and products at Computex, including the intelligent Power Distribution Unit and a series of advanced Over the NET™ solutions for remote data center management. Furthermore, ATEN will for the first time demonstrate the new Media Matrix solution, a combination of the 8x8 Cat5 A/V Matrix Switch and A/V Over Cat 5 Extender.

"The launch of the VanCryst™ professional A/V solution series earlier this year has received positive feedback from the market. We believe this new product family will be one of the driving forces of ATEN's sales growth of the year. ATEN also intends to maintain the leadership in the KVM market and aims to become a total data center solution provider. The launch of our new PDU product further completes the ALTUSEN Over the NET™ solution, providing advanced power management to improve energy efficiency in data centers. In addition, the new advanced Over the NET products are providing support to blade servers and VMware." says Kevin Chen, President of ATEN International.

To demonstrate first-hand the functionality and innovations of its products, ATEN will install live demo centers at its stand (Hall 1, Booth No. A533, A534, A539, A540). The demo sections will include:

VanCryst™ Media Matrix Solution:
The VanCryst™ Media Matrix Solution is a combination of the VM0808T 8x8 Cat 5 A/V Matrix Switch and the VE500 A/V Over Cat 5 Extender. The VM0808T is a Matrix Switch that routes and distributes audio, video, and RS232 signals over distances of up to 300m with 1280x1024 video resolution. The VM0808T can receive data from up to 8 audio/video sources and transmit data to up to 8 audio/video displays. A single computer's audio/video output can be routed to one or more destinations. The VM0808T offers several convenient ways to access and control the source devices: locally, with front panel pushbuttons and an RS232/485 serial port; and remotely, over the Internet with a browser-based web page interface.

The VM0808T / VE500 combination is an ideal solution when long runs to the A/V output locations are required, and where versatility and security are essential. The VM0808T is designed for deployment in environments that involve routing VGA signals such as those found in Casinos, Transportation and Logistics Centers, Remote Monitoring installations, Traffic Control Centers, Port Security facilities, Industrial Supervision settings, etc. It is also the A/V system designer's first choice for efficient and economical audio and video signal routing.

Data Center Solutions:
PN5212s / PN5320s / PN7212s / PN7320s Power Over the NET™ is an intelligent Power Distribution Unit (PDU) that provides 12 outlets at 20 ampere maximum and 20 outlets at 30 ampere maximum output current respectively. With support for real-time power status measurement, the intelligent PDU enables administrators to monitor the current, voltage and power consumption of their IT equipment, either at the PDU or outlet level, minimizing the power cost of running their equipment; and ensuring high levels of system availability for server rooms of all sizes. The intelligent PDU also provides sensor ports for temperature and humidity monitoring and threshold alarm message notification. IT administrators are able to easily and conveniently monitor and power control connected devices by means of a browser-based user interface – remotely if necessary – thereby minimizing maintenance costs and ensuring 24/7 reliability for their server room operations.

SOHO KVM Solutions:
The CM0264 2x4 DVI-HDMI Matrix KVMP™ Switch allows one dual display USB console to independently and simultaneously control two DVI computers, two HDMI computers or devices, and two additional USB devices. The CM0264 supports one DVI display and one HDMI display, allowing the user to view the output of (up to) four high-definition video sources. It is ideal for all multimedia applications, video editing and art designers. The picture-in-picture (PiP) 3 in 1 view mode functionalities allow monitoring up to four computers simultaneously. With the patented Cursor Shift function in dual display mode, the mouse cursor can move back and forth across the displays or shift the KVM focus while using two displays. In addition, the CM0264’s intuitive GUI provides easy monitoring, file transfer, copy and paste and other innovative desktop control features.

About KVM Switches-An Essential Server Management Device

A KVM (Keyboard, Video and Mouse) switch is an advanced, hardware-based solution that allows centralized access to multiple computers easily and conveniently from a single keyboard, monitor, and mouse. A KVM switch is useful in an extensive range of environments, suitable for SOHO users, small and medium businesses, and large corporations. Fundamentally, a KVM switch allows server rooms and data centers to optimize rack space in the IT environment, reducing costs and the clutter of keyboards, monitors and mice. Additional benefits include savings in energy consumption, server racks, cabinets, and floor space. Since a KVM switch provides access to a number of computers from a central location, IT professionals are no longer running from one server to the next, thereby streamlining workflow and increasing productivity. To meet the ever-developing needs of the globalized economy and the Internet, KVM solutions now have over-IP functionality for remote management capability that better fulfills the demands of corporations who need to manage multiple server rooms worldwide.
