ATEN Introduces the Latest Media Matrix and Media Distribution
Solutions at infoComm Asia 2010

Booth: 12D01, Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre

Taipei, Taiwan, November 15th, 2010. ATEN International, a leading designer, manufacturer and distributor of cutting-edge connectivity solutions, will be exhibiting its VanCryst™ professional A/V solutions at infoComm Asia 2010 (Booth 12D01). infoComm Asia, the largest communications and systems integration technology exhibition in Asia, will be held in Hong Kong from Nov. 17th to Nov. 19th. ATEN will introduce for the first time its new Media Distribution Solution – featuring patented Deskew technology – and will put on a live demonstration of its advanced Media Matrix Solution, as well. The full range of HDMI solutions, including video switch/splitter/extender products, SOHO KVM switches and KVM extenders will also be showcased.

"ATEN is attending infoComm Asia for the first time this year and the focus of our display will be our VanCryst™ range of professional A/V solutions. In addition to demonstrating our latest A/V solutions, we aim to approach professional audio-video system integrators and value-added service providers in Asia at the show," stated Kevin Chen, president of ATEN International. "We plan to effectively expand the distribution network for VanCryst™ and boost its overall visibility in the market," Mr. Chen added.

• Media Matrix Solution
The all new VanCryst™ Media Matrix Solution includes an 8-input/8-output Cat 5 A/V Matrix Switch (VM0808T) and an A/V Over Cat 5 A/V extender (VE500). The VM0808T is a versatile audio/video over Cat 5 + serial solution that, in combination with the VE500, offers an easy and affordable way to route any of 8 audio/video sources to any of 8 displays. Eight source devices can connect to the VM0808T's eight Cat 5 A/V input ports via eight VE500T transmitters. The input data can then be output to eight monitors, displays, or projectors at the same time via eight VE500R / VE500RQ receivers. In addition to the eight Cat 5 connections, the unit also contains local audio/video inputs/outputs which allows an extra source device and monitor located on the same rack as the VM0808T to function as an additional transmitter and receiver.

The Media Matrix Solution offers several convenient ways to access and control multiple source devices: Locally, with the use of front panel pushbuttons and an RS-232/RS-485 serial port; and remotely, over the Internet with a browser-based web page interface or via a Telnet session.

• Media Distribution Solution
The VanCryst™ Media Distribution Solution consists of a 4 or 8 port A/V over Cat 5 splitter (VS1204T or VS1208T), in combination with a VE170R or VE170RQ A/V over Cat 5 Receiver. The MDS solution is ideal for installations that require multimedia content from a single input source to be delivered to multiple destinations. By using Cat 5e cable to connect the A/V splitter and receiver, the displays can be located up to 300 m (1000 ft) away from the input source. The Media Distribution Solution supports high quality video with resolutions up to 1920 x 1200@60Hz. The VE170RQ A/V over Cat 5 Receiver features ATEN's patented Deskew anti color-skewing technology. Deskew allows the RGB signal to be manually synchronized to compensate for color deviations and time delays induced by long-distance transmission, thereby ensuring optimal video signal quality under all conditions.

About KVM Switches-An Essential Server Management Device

A KVM (Keyboard, Video and Mouse) switch is an advanced, hardware-based solution that allows centralized access to multiple computers easily and conveniently from a single keyboard, monitor, and mouse. A KVM switch is useful in an extensive range of environments, suitable for SOHO users, small and medium businesses, and large corporations. Fundamentally, a KVM switch allows server rooms and data centers to optimize rack space in the IT environment, reducing costs and the clutter of keyboards, monitors and mice. Additional benefits include savings in energy consumption, server racks, cabinets, and floor space. Since a KVM switch provides access to a number of computers from a central location, IT professionals are no longer running from one server to the next, thereby streamlining workflow and increasing productivity. To meet the ever-developing needs of the globalized economy and the Internet, KVM solutions now have over-IP functionality for remote management capability that better fulfills the demands of corporations who need to manage multiple server rooms worldwide.
