System Requirements
  • For best results, computers that remotely access the switch should have at least a Pentium III, 1GHz processor, with their screen resolution set to 1024 x 768.
  • Users who want to access the switch with the Windows Client must have DirectX 7.0 or higher installed.If you don't already have it, DirectX is available for free download from
    Microsoft's web site:
    http://www.microsoft.com/downloads.
  • Users who want to access the switch with the Java Client must have Sun's Java 2 (1.4 or higher) runtime environment installed. Java is available for free download from the Sun Java website: http://java.sun.com
  • Browsers must support 128 bit SSL encryption.
  • For best results, a network transfer speed of at least 128kbps is recommended.General Operation.

Running the KN9116 Live Demo
Note: This explanation uses the Windows XP environment; however operation is similar in other Windows environments.

Step 1: Open a browser and enter the provided IP address into the Address bar. Click Go.

 

Step 2: A Security Alert dialog box will appear notifying you that you are about to view pages over a secure connection. Click OK.

 

Step 3: Another Security Alert dialog box will appear indicating that there is a problem with the site’s security certificate. Click Yes to proceed.

 

Step 4: You will be directed to the login page for the Altusen KN9116. Input the provided username and password, and then click Login.

 

Step 5: After you have successfully logged in, you will be directed to the KN9116 Utility main webpage. Click on the Windows Client icon located on the left-hand side.

 

Step 6: A File Download dialog box will appear. Click Open.

 

Step 7: Download and install the winclient.exe file.

 

Step 8: The Win 32 Client dialog box will appear. Click Switch.

 

Step 9: The OSD (On Screen Display) main screen will appear. To view the computers connected to the switch, scroll the mouse over the name of the computer that you wish to view and double-click.

To return to the OSD main screen, press the [Scroll Lock] key on the keyboard two times.

 

Step 10: To simultaneously monitor and control all 16 server ports, press the [Scroll Lock] key two times to turn on the toolbar located in the upper left-hand corner of the screen, and then click on the Array Mode icon.

 

Step 11: To select a computer in Array Mode, scroll the mouse over that port’s display and double-click.

To exit Array Mode and return to the OSD main screen, click on the X located in the lower right-hand corner of the screen.

 

Step 12: To exit the OSD and return to the KN9116 Utility main webpage, click on the Ex located in the upper right-hand corner of the OSD interface.

 

Step 13: To logout of the KN9116 Utility, click on the Logout icon located in the upper right-hand corner of the KN9116 main webpage.
