ATEN UC8000 MicLIVE Wins Good Design Award 2021

The world’s first AI-powered audio mixer integrates audio mixing equipments into a compact stage box housing

Taipei, Taiwan (October 20, 2021) – ATEN International, the leading provider of AV/IT connectivity and management solutions, today announces that its UC8000 MicLIVE 6CH AI Audio Mixer has won the Good Design Award, one of the world’s most prestigious product design awards. The UC8000 MicLIVE is the world’s first AI-powered audio mixer as it adopts machine-learning techniques to deliver acoustic detection, and acoustic fingerprinting to optimize the voice recording experience. With senior AI and deep learning engineering, the UC8000 MicLIVE was introduced to help users create the perfect audio experience with ease, which is tailor-made for talk shows, livestreaming, podcasts, worship, and music applications.

“ATEN is delighted to win this award,” said Nicholas Lin, Senior Vice President of ATEN.  “This shows that our persistent efforts in innovation have paid off. Our team members have worked hard to come up with this unique product, and we’re hoping to facilitate audio mixing through the use of AI and machine learning.”

Broadcasting a live performance usually requires a team of professionals to assist with BGM or volume control, but UC8000 works like a virtual production team and director so that just one user can create a pro-level broadcast on their own,” further explained Nicholas Lin.

Founded in 1957, the Good Design Award is well-known to the world with its “G-Mark”, the symbol representing good design in many aspects including industrial goods, architecture, software, systems, and services. This year, UC8000 was able to receive the honor along with other winners for its design and functionality. The judging committee praised the product as follows: “This audio mixer embodies the maker's consideration and design thoughts so that inexperienced content creators can intuitively conduct sound tuning. The fact that it not only includes support functions so that anyone can easily conduct live streaming but also has a clear operating system won the favorable response of judges. The overall shape is compact and simple, and the various control buttons, which tend to be complicated, have been replaced with graphic ones. Consideration was given to preventing mistaken operation by unaccustomed users, and thorough use is made of an easy-to-understand interface, both of which show kindness to users.

Under most circumstances, broadcasting a live performance requires a team of professionals to assist with BGM or volume control; with the help of the UC8000 MicLIVE, only one user is needed to create a pro-level broadcast.
