Video Distribution and Streaming Solutions for Training and Operating Room
Preclinical Healthcare Research, Italy
Surgical Media Distribution
The Center for Research and Biotechnical Applications in Cardiovascular Surgery (CRABCC), located in Rivolta d'Adda, Italy, studies new surgical techniques, reconstructive medicine, and video-assisted robotic surgery in the field of veterinary science.
CRABCC reached out to Allnet.Italia, an ATEN Italian Ambassador Distributor, because they were looking for a solution to integrate the essential video output from four different electromedical device peripherals used during surgery into one quad-view feed on a 60-inch LCD screen for convenient monitoring by those in the room, and also to both record and stream the surgeries for safety, training, and insurance purposes. An extra dedicated video output for one of the peripherals was also required.
Needed video output from 4 electromedical devices required for monitoring in surgery to display simultaneously during procedures on a single display
Recording & Streaming
The surgical procedures needed to be recorded for reference and educational purposes via a camera integrated into one of the electromedical devices and streamed online
The medical team has limited AV expertise and requires peace-of-mind during delicate surgeries, so the solution must be reliable and easy to operate
Due to the intricate nature of the surgeries, the video needed to be of the highest quality to show the clearest details for real-time observation and optimal training use
The multi-view setup offers us ease of use and peace of mind. It allows us to demonstrate complicated medical procedures to our students.
Dr. Alessandro Addis, CRABCC srl
The ATEN solution offers not only quad-view but a variety of multi-view modes for the four video outputs, including custom, which exceeds the initial requirements
CAMLIVETM records the CM1284’s multiview output on a Mac which streams the feed using OBS for a simple plug-and-stream solution for broadcasting the surgeries
The solution offers intuitive operation so that surgeons with limited technical AV knowledge are able to concentrate fully on their medical procedures
Superior 4K Video
Provides the highest resolutions, high-precision quality and accuracy required for surgical training videos with support for up to 4K DCI (4096 x 2160 @ 30 Hz)
